1. Dialogue readers - four to eight, depending on the number of scenes you wish to perform. The specific scene will determine how many male and female needed, and their ages. Several scenes have college students, several have adult males and females and one has a father and teenage son. Professional acting experience is not required, but they should be comfortable speaking before an audience. They do not have to memorize the scenes, only read the dialogue. The more rehearsed they are, though, the better. The scenes can be copied from this site for rehearsals.

2. Singers - two to four, any combination of male and female. The songs, as written, can be categorized as Americana - early 50s country and country-rock. The singers should be comfortable with that style of music.

3. Musicians - any number from your congregation to augment the music tracks. Guitar, bass, drums, fiddle, keyboards are typical for this music style. Musicians should provide their own amplifiers. Musicians will be sent the music for rehearsal. The original backing tracks will be brought to the performance. The purpose and character of the use is not of a commercial nature, but is for nonprofit educational purposes; to be performed live in churches or schools and not to be recorded. License fees have been paid by the music track producers to copyright holders of the original music.

4. If you wish to rewrite the music to your own style, go ahead and do so. Don't feel constrained by the author's choice of country-rock music. You can use the same lyrics, and write the music in rock, pop or rap, whatever you're comfortable with.

5. Sound system - CD player, amplifier, mixing board, one microphone and stand for each person on stage who will sing or read. If an acoustic fiddle player is available, a mic will be needed.

6. Music stands - one for each musician and for each reader. Stand lights needed only if house lights are dimmed.

7. Computer PowerPoint projection system and screen - to display lyrics of the songs for the audience to follow along.

8. The show is meant to be flexible, so you may pick and choose what you wish to perform.
